How the pet sitting and dog walking price calculation works
Add drive time to visit time
A 30-minute walk plus 15 minutes of driving is 45 minutes of work.
Multiply by your hourly rate
45 minutes at $30 an hour is $22.50. Add $3 of fuel and supplies for a $25.50 cost.
Add profit
15% on top covers insurance, bonding, a booking app and slow weeks: $29.33 per visit.
Add for extra pets
A second dog at $5 extra makes it $34.33. Five walks a week is about $147 for one dog.
Worked example. A 30-minute dog walk with 15 minutes of driving, at $30 an hour with $3 of fuel and supplies and 15% profit, comes to $29.33 per walk. Five walks a week is $146.63, and you earn $35.10 per working hour.
