How the Depop fee calculation works

Depop's cut of a US sale, with or without Boost, what you're paid and the profit after your costs.

  1. US sellers pay no selling fee

Depop dropped its 10% selling fee for US sellers on 15 July 2024. UK and Australian sellers pay none either. Sellers in other countries still pay 10%; enter it under Depop rates.

  2. Processing is 3.3% + $0.45 of the total

It is charged on the item, the shipping the buyer pays and the sales tax. $36 with 8% tax costs $1.73.

  3. Boost adds a fee only when a boosted item sells

If the buyer saw your Boosted listing and bought within 28 days, Depop charges 12% of item plus shipping, $4.32 on $36. With a Depop Shipping label it is 12% of the item only, $3.60.

  4. Shipping and your costs come off last

With a Depop label the shipping the buyer pays goes to the label. Item cost decides whether the sale made money.

Worked example. A $30.00 item with $6.00 shipping and 8% tax: processing is 3.3% of $38.88 plus $0.45, or $1.73, so Depop pays out $34.27. After a $6.00 label and a $10.00 item cost you keep $18.27. Boosted, you'd keep $13.95. Below $11.06 the item loses money.

Depop Fee FAQ

How much does Depop take from a sale?

For US sellers, only payment processing: 3.3% of the total plus $0.45. On a $30 item with $6 shipping and 8% tax that's $1.73, unless the sale came through Boost.

Does Depop still charge a 10% fee?

Not for US sellers since July 2024. Sellers in some other countries still pay a selling fee; enter it in the Selling fee field.

How much does a Boosted listing cost on Depop?

Nothing up front. If the item sells through Boost you pay a fee on item plus shipping, 12% in the US for listings created from 23 March 2026.

Does Depop charge fees on shipping?

Yes. Processing applies to the shipping the buyer pays. The Boost fee includes shipping too, unless you ship with a Depop label.

Does the buyer pay a fee on Depop?

Yes. Since 18 July 2024 US buyers pay a Marketplace fee of up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1, shown at checkout. It is added to the buyer's total and does not come out of your payout.

What are Depop fees in the UK and Australia?

No selling fee in either. Processing is 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK and 2.6% + A$0.30 in Australia. Boost is 12% in the UK and 8% in Australia. Change the rates under Depop rates.

Does Depop refund its fees if I refund the buyer?

Yes. When a sale is refunded, Depop reverses the processing fee, any Boost fee and any selling fee.

Why does my payout differ from this result?

Depop rounds each fee, and fees in other countries, currency conversion and seller-paid shipping discounts change the total. Edit the rates to match your sale.
